We decided that having these windows here was not a necessary
thing,
so I decided to close them off. I used 3/8" plywood with white paint on
the outside for looks. I also used some small self adhesive
weather-stripping
to seal (light leaks) the plywood against the vinyl frame of the window.
Then a layer of sound-board with some little strips of plywood
to hold them both.
Then a layer of batting just for the heck of it.
Then one more layer of sound-board so that it sits basically
flush
with the rest of the wall. This is all so that if the theater
needs/wants
to be removed later, it can be and just requires filling a bunch of
holes
and re-painting.
The batting over the platform is done, you can see the
sound-board
through the batting.
Notice also that the carpet has been fully installed and I have
finished the furring strips (never really finished).
Sound-board on one side of the room.
And on the other side.
I have not done the back wall yet, since I need to modify the
batting
and the furring strip since I need to have the wires come out up high
for
the speaker locations. I will make some wood blocks to attach the
speaker
mounts to and I will have the wires come through the middle of them.
